A Canadian counterpart. How communications came to be between me and AgNO3, will forever cease to amaze me. This once friend of a friend and the sorts like that so happens to have recently started his own music label, and have an album coming out, with two more already in the pipeline. With names being flung around in collab/remix land such as Buckeye Red and Skrillex it appears that his music is grabbing attention quite quickly. What is going on here!? You also may be asking yourself. Well I come bearing answers, of sorts. Listing such influence's as; Aphex Twin, Daft Punk, Deadmau5, Chemical Brothers,RJD2 and CalvinHarris will give your ears an idea of the preparation needed for this forthcoming sonic invasion. With production and mixing not being enough, in Late June he brought Limbic Records to life, and already has an impressive roster of artists all braced to be to be hitting the net via all major digital distributors. This first of these releases being his own 'Guestroom'. So without further ado, chocks away;
Everybody wants to talk like they have got something to say. Not many a word is needed on this day. Beat Two of Two from Binyaand his magical inbox intervention. This Fruit & things;
Summer has arrived. I think. Well. Somewhere, summer has arrived. For those people lucky enough to be somewhat near a beach at sunset, heres something that you can pon to set the perfect scene. EmeL (collaborative wisdom of Kaloo & Maksei) are setting phasers to vibe. So lets get vibal out here.
Smashing up plates and cutting up breaks. One detects some hints of the great plate smasher Amon about this track. You can be the judge. More remix's and tracks on his Soundcloud.
You will be surprised if you are suspecting the usual house and synthy antics. Could this be a sign of a new direction for young Binya? Having mentioned recently that after an evening cruising around Madrid in the 'whip' with Mayham, he found some of the beats they had been listening to particularly crazy. Could Mayham have had some musical influence upon him? Who is this Mayham? He must be important or he wouldn't keep on getting bold-italics-ed. 2 weeks later after this night of many questions, several beats appeared in my inbox over the course of 48 hours. This one was the first;
Bringing things back to the UK with a bang. Kaduru Beatz teamed up on the bars with fellow rapper P, and their efforts on the 20th of April created this heavily hazed madness that is available for you ears only here.
Here we have unMaksei. Straight outtaNY, but hails from everywhere. Everywhere being an interesting collection of places for those of you who haven't set foot out of you're bedroom in the last 2, let alone country. A bit of Australia, Ireland, Singapore & Madrid. M to the drizzle being the latest place of residence before nycity, and the same place where he spent his teens. So if 'home' had to be named, I was told it would be one Madrid. I see a connection in the artists on this blog here. Moving on;
Its all a bit of a Hip Hop/Downtempo/4/4ish/On a chill tip/ Roll me a fatty blend/mush out there. & If you can get your head around that, then I'm sure you will be salivating at present. I am. He started making beats on ye olde FruityLoops for something to rap over, and from there over the course of 4 years or so, it grew into a love for making beats. Now with influences having grown and experience having been gathered he's moved onto the more prestigious Logic and as of late a leetle beet of de hAbleton Live. & here we be right now. Obviously theres a little bit more to it than that. Innovation, along with that downtempo feel is what he is on right now, and his music clearly reflects this. Nicolas Jaar, Bonobo, Mount Kimbie, Four Tet, Burial, Caribou, Of Porcelain are some of the influences he named, but with a clear love for music he feels anything from The Clash to Debussy. If you made it to this blog, then lets hope you brought a little green friend. As what he's doing right now, some people might like to call 'killing it'.
Well then. This little piece here was sent through to me by a some guy, also known as a good friend of mine, who hails from Belgrade, with some influence from Madrid, but currently resides in NY. This good friend is also known as Kaloo, and he knows his fine sounds. His musical taste varies from le eep opp, to the four four, everything in between and of course under the floor, however today we are talking house of the lower depths. As to be expected, this lucid mix that he has put together for your auditory pleasure has a hefty line up of deepness, blended at what I would say was a chilling room temperature, that will help unravel a path taking you deeper, and deeper into the basement of your mind. Now that the context has been set, let the latest tainted mind from the collectiv help you on your way. Have a good time;
Kadurubeatz has re-surfaced once again from the world of no internet and Windows XP, this time in the form of a SoundCloudpage. With what seems like a plethora of beats to sift through, and still with fresh ones in the pipeline, Kaduru displays his unique style of Hip-Hop beat making and beat structure, often involving many harmonious melodic patterns to guide you throughout. A couple of the beats in question are posted below, however if you wish to hear a larger selection of the Kaduru arsenal then visit his new SoundCloudhere.
Digital Nativeis back with another smooth tune to jam out to. A new take on an instrumental track of his that was posted early December, he later collaborated with friend and vocalist, 'Caps', and has since given the tune a new lease of life...
This is a guy who knows 'what's good' right round about now. Simple Pleasuresseems to have appeared out of no where with a genius mix of great music and fresh transitions. He linked the mix directly through to the collectiv recently, and here it is now for you to feast your ears upon;
Jimmy Jazz of Radio Utopiawas kind enough to invite Ef-Lw and Binya to feature on his New Year's Day 2011 radio show. So they turned up at an undisclosed location in northern Madrid kind of not really and bought beer for 80 cents from a strange looking drinks machine. After forty five minutes of music and such like from Jimmy and his guest The Might Qwuinn, Ef-Lw and Binya are introduced and proceeded in mixing live for the next half hour. If you want you can even listen to the show from the link below;
